Introduction
Welcome to Literary Explorations, my page for book reviews. Most of my book reviews will be about tween and young adult fantasy fiction, but I also read other genres, so there will be some variation. My website is supposed to be a place to share and explore different books, so definitely feel free to wander around!
About Me
I'm a 12-year-old girl who loves to read. My name is Emilynne, but most everyone calls me Emmi. I like reading, writing, programming, learning, and labeling things, especially plants. Apparently, I speak very fast, and I enjoy rambling at the speed of sound when I'm bored. I'm taking three computer classes at Harvard-Westlake this summer: Design Your Own Game, Web Design, and Programming Kickstart.
I'm an only child. I live in a pretty little house at the end of the cul-de-sac, with my mom and my dad. Dad has a bird that hates me -Paku is a nice bird, just not to me - and I have a lovable but idiotic fish named Mr. Bubbles. However, those aren't our only pets. Our house is kind of like a gate to the wilderness; we often see deer in our backyard, and a bear likes to visit every night.
I go to The Mirman School. It's nice, and it's very small. Once, we had a graduating class of 11 kids; as you can see, there aren't very many of us. The school has many different programs. We have a yearbook staff that's entirely students. I've been in the Mirman choir, called the Concert Singers, for 3 years now, although I'm switching to debate this year. My school is a great place, and it's there I've made my first friends. As you know, I really love reading books; that's why I'm doing this. Anyway, enough about me. Welcome to my website: let's hit the books!
Book Reviews
This is the main purpose of this website: to review books! I'm starting with a few of my favorites, but, as requests come in, I'll review requested books. I will try to keep my main reviews spoiler-free, but I may add sections after the reviews with spoilers. Check out the book reviews I've done so far here!
Requests
I do take requests. You can contact me at my email, emilynnenewsom@gmail.com, if you want to suggest a book. Also, I have a fanfiction.net account under the name StarDreamer02. Requests for fantasy books are best (because I like those), but I will always try to read all requests. However, I won't read anything above young adult level, so don't suggest 50 Shades or something like that. I'm only 12, after all! Requests may not be answered immediately, but I will try to do it as soon as I can.
